Well known in Edmonton's choral community, RJ Chambers serves as Artistic Director for the Dawn Chorus Choir and for ALIVE (A Laurier Intergenerational Vocal Ensemble). In the past, RJ has served as the Artistic Director for the Parkland Celebration Choir, Assistant Conductor of Richard Eaton Singers and Da Camera Singers, and has served as a guest conductor for Edmonton Metropolitan Chorus, Edmonton Metropolitan Chamber Choir, and the Josephburg Men's Chorus. RJ regularly subs for conductors across the city and is comfortable working as a choral clinician for choirs of all experience levels.

As a tenor, RJ has soloed at many events throughout the province and has served as the tenor vocal coach for the Edmonton Metropolitan Chorus and the tenor section leader for Richard Eaton Singers. As a pianist, RJ has accompanied the Lac Ste. Anne Community Choir in Alberta Beach and has extensive accompanying experience at festivals in and around the Edmonton region.  

In addition to his work as a performer and conductor, RJ is active in administrative and volunteer roles for a number of music organizations. Most notably, RJ has served on the Executive for the Alberta Music Festival Association (in a number of roles) since 2013 and has provided administrative support to choirs and other music organizations across the province - particularly in the area of bylaw, society, and charity development and casino eligibility guidance.

During weekday office hours, RJ can be found at the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton where he serves as Office Administrator for the Diocese and the Cathedral. RJ loves supporting churches in ways that free them up to do active ministry and this role has been a great way for him to engage in this meaningful work.

Happily married to his beautiful wife Janette, RJ enjoys his leisure time with her and their adorable animals, Kurby and Jango.
